U10 Girls Continue their Rise

Our Georgia Express U10 Girls continued their strong Fall, sweeping four games to take the UFA Fall Classic. The girls have had a strong season, with the only blemishes from strong Lanier and Ambush squads. They faced two teams ranked above them in the latest Soccer in College rankings.

Saturday’s first game with UFA France was a tough first half, with UFA scoring a quick goal and dominating possession. Georgia Express scored the equalizer before the half. In the second half, we quickly scored three goals to build a 4-1 lead only to see it evaporate under a deluge of UFA shots. Defending frantically, the girls held on for a 4-3 win. The second game brought a rematch with Blue Springs, a team that knocked them out of the RYSA tournament in August 2-3. This time, the score was reversed as Georgia Express squeaked out a 3-2 victory.

Sunday’s semifinals was an 8:00 showdown with NASA Cherokee. The girls played solid soccer to book their place in the finals with a 3-0 win. There stood UFA France waiting for them, still stinging from their upset loss Saturday morning. The rematch turned into a one-sided affair, with Georgia Express pushing until the final whistle for a 7-1 resounding result!!
